Blogging for Money Project Aiming for Financial Freedom

A few years ago, I first started my Internet business while working full-time for a large corporate company.

The ‘job for life’ motto no longer applies and I was concerned that the large corporate could easily just say, “Andrew we no longer need your services”.

If that situation were to happen, I knew that by finding out how to make blog and start my own internet business, it would help me make some income.

In my full-time role, as the Head of IT, I worked long hours and was very well rewarded for it. But that didn’t stop me putting in many hours each week to make my Internet business take off.

I would listen to or read about internet marketing gurus best tips and ideas, while travelling to and from work.

When I travelled on business to other places around the UK, I started to travel by train so I could work on my own internet business.

In the evenings, if I was working away from home, I would work in my hotel room.

I would work at weekends.

I started making several blogs and then I looked at Affiliate Marketing.

Affiliate Marketing is where you sell someone else’s product or service and earn a percentage of the sale price. The percentage ranges from 5% to 100%.

When you first start, you might be thinking that Affiliate Marketing commissions probably won’t amount to enough to make the work worth your while.

This might be true. It was for me.

I was working all the hours I could, trying different techniques and making very little income.

In fact, if I were to add up the hours and divide them by the amount of earned commission I was making, it would have been less than $1 an hour.

No-one works for less than $1, do they?

But I was determined and I thought like any new venture, sometimes things start slowly and then pick up speed when you have a little experience and confidence with what you’re doing.

Remember I was only doing this part-time. It was a slow progress.

But, here I was earning Affiliate Marketing commissions (albeit quite small) and I still had the comfort and security of my main full-time role.

Ever thought of doing something like this yourself?

Simply find a few hours each week, put in a little extra effort and get started. Maybe get up 1 hour earlier each day, or watch 1 hour less of TV, each day. What may start small can become an extra slice of income each month which might just pay a few of those bills or enable you to save and buy a new car.

And, you can do it from your own home. No travelling expenses!

Now please don’t get me wrong, I am not saying you will become rich and I am not saying it’s easy. It’s just a new adventure you can start with small set-up costs from home.

Many individuals give up.

So where do you go to find products to promote and sell.

I started off at ClickBank.

You sign-up, you choose your product to promote, you add the link to your site. Whenever you sell something, ClickBank does the rest. Two weeks later you get a check with your sales commissions. ClickBank do take a small commission but it’s worth it. Everything is automatic and completed for you.

Another great thing with ClickBank is that you can track statistics like how many people purchased, who has purchased and your commissions.

That way you can see if a product is selling or not. If not, move on, start a new campaign with a different product.
